The curriculum includes -
History and philosophy of yoga : Different paths of yoga as described in Bhagwad Geeta, The Yoga-Sutra is one of the most important texts in the age-old Yoga Philosophy. Literally it means Guide or Main Thread of Yoga. Not only it is still relevant even today, we can also find solutions to the modern day needs of mind management.
Anatomy and physiology of yogic practices : Introduction to Human Body and systems with reference to yogic model and modern science. Special reference to Respiratory, Musculo-skeletal and Nervous systems is given to understand the effects of asana and pranayama on the major body systems.
Asana : The practical and theoretical knowledge of yoga postures. Alignments and postural physiology with reference to Asana are covered. Students are taught the adaptations and safety measures of the postures.
Pranayama : Yogic breathing practices play a major role in the holistic health of a human being. The pranayama practices (theory and practical) are taught scientifically.
Teaching Skills : right approach, attitude and mindset to be an effective teacher. Guidance is given in class management and session planning.
Yoga Application : Students work on a particular project on the topic of their interest. It helps to deepen the understanding in applying yogic wisdom.

It is ideal for those who have always wanted to have an in depth understanding of Yoga. A sincere desire to learn and openness to yogic techniques is required - a basic knowledge of yoga postures and philosophy is preferred, but not essential.
Students will develop the skills to teach yoga asana as well as improve their own personal practice.
The course donation includes the tution fees, reading material and examination fees.
